TITLE:  North-South Arch catches the waning light, CA.

DESCRIPTION:  The end of a late fall day comes quickly to Mendocino Headlands State Park, part of the California State Parks Servicer, which rings the bottom of the village of Mendocino California. The park hides many hidden arches that are hard to find, but it also has some that call out to be seen. What I'm calling North-South Arch is part of a sea stack separate from the headlands themselves, whose arch can be viewed both from the north facing headland and also from a different south facing headland. Many of the other arches in the area can only be seen from one side because there is no access to the other...either it points out to sea, or towards another inaccessible face.

In the distance a barely visible light from the Point Cabrillo Lighthouse glints, confirming just where we are.

This is a slightly long exposure image, this technique softens the look of the water and draws attention to the beach's gentle swell and the line of whitewater ringing the bases of all the headlands of this bay.
